How To Measure for a Horse Tail Extension When buying a horse tail extension you are going to make sure that you measure properly so you don't get a tail that is too short or a tail that is too long. To measure start by standing you horse on level ground. Make sure the horse is square or close to it. Then take a tape measure and measure from the bottom of the tail bone to where you want the tail to fall. This is usually the fetlocks but if you want it longer or shorter make sure you measure to were you want it! Please be aware if you want a tail that is going to be at risk of being stepped on (this is anything below the fetlocks) then I can not be responsible for the tail getting stepped on. All tails can easily be trimmed if they arrive and are too long.
